The kids bedtime…. the time we look forward to so we can flop on the sofa with a chilled glass of wine. Also a time of stress, when those little darlings just won’t settle, no matter how hard we try. Last month Blinds 2go did some research which showed that bedtime was the most stressful time of the day. And being a parent for nearly 13 years, I have definitely had some stressful nights putting the kids to bed.
We always hear about creating a calm environment for getting to sleep at the end of a busy day. But this also goes for children’s rooms. Its good to decorate rooms in cooler colours, which will help us sleep better. Whilst its good to keep the walls nice and simple, we can then be creative in the accessories in the room, such as windows. Blackout roller blinds can also help children sleep, and we have these in both our kids bedrooms. They were a god send when they were little in blocking out the light on those bright summer evenings.
Blinds 2go have recently launched a fantastic range of new digital print children’s blinds. There are 24 to choose from, and the range can be viewed on their website. All of the blinds are black out ones, and as we are redecorating our daughters room at Easter, I will certainly be looking at getting one for her.
To celebrate their new range they have launched a fantastic competition for kids. Your child can design their very own blind. The picture can either be hand drawn or a digital one they have created. To enter the competition please upload your child’s drawing to their facebook or twitter page and include the hashtag #DesignedByKids. The competition is open until the 31st March 2015. The winner will see their design printed on a blind PLUS £250 of vouchers to spend on the Blinds 2go website. Full details can be found here.
We are not taking part in the competition, but my daughter loves drawing. She created a ‘beach scene’ which she thought would look great on a blue blind. So get the kids being creative this weekend and best of luck.
